Taking Flight!

Thursday, September 2, 2010
Had to get up and out this morning despite the unwillingness! We got up, had our breakfast and got out of the room for check out. Just shortly after, Heather ran out to do some Hangliding as they were leaving pretty soon. She went with this Aussie guy who owned the company and he had a camera attached to the glider so she got some really cool pics and a video as well. He also carried an Ipod with him so they listened to ACDC while hangliding over the Alps. Pretty sweet!!! While she was gone, I did some Australian paperwork (yes more of it, I know) and mailed it then walked to the train station to book some trains to Nice and Barcelona. The trip is coming to an end and we have only a few trains left to book. It seems pretty crazy! Anyhow, I got there at 1245 and the booking place was closed for lunch (must be nice) and re-opened again in an hour. Since I had walked all that way, I just decided to wait the 45 minutes there. I was able to book some trains but they were not direct at all and I could tell instantly that it was going to be quite the adventure and we were bound to miss one or two along the way. Oh well, all she could or was willing to offer me. Anyhow, afterwards I met Heather back at the hostel where we did a bit more planning, watched her Hangliding video and saw her pictures. We then headed off to Grindelwald which was our next stop in Switzerland. It was only about a 30 minute train ride away and we were heading up the mountain a bit. We arrived and the hostel was right beside the train station which is always a nice thing. We checked in, and both went for a nap, while watching a movie. We are both quite sick and congested. We needed a room to ourselves and some sleep to rest and recover. We slept until almost 9 at night and then decided that we should eat something. The only place still open was the local restaurant so we went and had some raclette and pizza. Haha! It was yummy but we were still tired and just went back to bed afterwards.
