We had to check out today and return our ATV ...we have a later ferry back to Athens as well so we pretty well had another day to chill out by the pool. We took our last spin on the ATV shortly after breakfast and we got a tensor bandage for my ankle that is fitted for ankles so that I have a bit more support when I decide to bear weight on it again. We then relaxed by the pool as we waited until our taxi was due to pick us up. It was a bit of a farce this taxi thing. So the whole time we were there we heard about how there aren’t very many taxi’s and it’s quite difficult to get one on the island however, the one that picked us up had a sweet deal going. He already had two girls in the taxi when he picked us up so we all crammed into his little car and he got 20 euro from both us and the other girls. So he made 40 euro for a 10 minute drive and when he dropped us off, there were tons of taxis all lined up waiting for the ferries to arrive. There are definitely taxis in Santorini, you just have to get it at the ferry port if you want one. Anyhow, there was a bit of confusion as to what ferry we were supposed to get on, so here’s Heather hopping over barrier rails to ask the people so we don’t miss the ferry and the ferry isn’t even the company that we bought our tickets from...it was quite strange. Anyhow, we got on the overnight one to Athens which is all we wanted. I did do a bit of walking onto the ferry which was painful but definitely better. Heather scored us some benches too so we could lie down on the ferry once again! YEAH! Although it was a noisy group on the ferry and there wasn’t all that much restful sleep happening. Heather was smart though and downloaded some movies in Santorini so we watched one on the ferry...parts of it anyhow!
