We slept in until 11 am this morning and it was very much needed. We decided to move into a closer room to the road and reception as George had offered the night before. Heather went up to reception to sort things out while I began my journey up the mountain. I had forgotten how steep it actually was going down the night before, my ankle did not. I decided that I was going to stay off of it completely so here I am hopping up the hill on one foot. The walkways were pretty narrow but with nothing or very little to hold on to. It was quite the task to get up this hill. I had made it about half way up and was now on the roadside when a little old Greek woman came running towards me, yelling at me in Greek. I wasn’t really sure what to do but she shook a broomstick at me and motioned for me to take it. HAHA! She wanted me to use it like a cane...hilarious!!! I told her it was ok and that I was managing but she insisted. So I gave it the old college try and it was...terrible! She had a good heart though and the best intentions. I had to tell Heather about it when she came by and I got a picture with it...only because I looked like Yukon Cornelius. Anyhow, I finally made it up to the poolside, where our new room was just a flight of stairs away and we hung out by the pool for the entire day. Heather was amazing and went and got some lunch and some dinner with wine later on. She really took amazing care of me!! We both were able to Skype home from the pool as well which had the most beautiful view of Santorini. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Our families enjoyed the view as well!! We chilled out on the pool deck until after dark and watched the sun set over the volcanic island in front of us. It was absolutely stunning and definitely a surreal moment. After we headed back to our room, which wasn’t quite as difficult as before and were able to Skype with our friend Jer! It was really good to talk to her since we haven’t seen or talked to her since we left. Very cool! We then packed it in for the night!
