Leaving on a jet plane

Woke up this morning and had to get checked out by 11. We decided to take the day to plan the next leg of our trip. Italy!!! So we sat in the hostel reception until late in the afternoon, headed to the train station and booked some more trains before we boarded a bus to take us to the airport. We arrived quite early to the airport so we just sat and booked Italian hostels. At around 5 we went to check in and go through security. So the strange thing about the airport is, you go to the gate and each gate has a security checkpoint. So literally you go through security and on the other side is a small room that you wait to board. It was kind of neat! So we boarded our plane and were off to Athens!!! The flight was small and not very full so we were able to spread out a bit and have 3 seats for the 2 of us. Also to our surprise, they fed you on the flight. We weren’t expecting a meal since we had gotten a really good deal and had already eaten. Oh well, can’t say no to free food. The flight was quite short, only an hour and a half and we were in Greece!!! We were quite excited to say the least but it had been a long tiring day and we were ready to get to our hostel and go out on the town. We took the metro from the airport which is quite a ways out of town, but made it to the hostel with relative ease. It was nearly midnight by the time we checked in and got to our room. So we decided to stay in that night and catch up on some sleep and go out tomorrow night.
